Rosendale satellite to close Aug 19

The Fond du Lac Public Library satellite location at the Rosendale Community Center will close; its last day of operation will be Friday, August 19.

The satellite – a parked bookmobile – had been operating at that location since February 2010. Previously, Rosendale was visited by the traveling bookmobile.

The decision to close the Rosendale satellite was financial, said library Director Ken Hall. Since the library is owned and operated by the City of Fond du Lac, the library must place a priority on providing service inside city limits, Hall said. Hall left open the possibility of returning to Rosendale, at a later date. He said Rosendale city leaders understand the costs involved and have discussed raising the necessary funds.
