FDL School Dist. student art on display

As a colorful, creative celebration of March as Youth Art Month, artwork by students of the Fond du Lac School District will be on display at the Main Library downtown and FDLPL Express near Festival Foods.

Artwork by students in middle school and high school will be on display at the Main Library, and the artwork chosen for the FDLPL Express Branch represents area elementary school students from kindergarten through fifth grade.

Preschoolers tend to be imaginative, carefree and creative. So it’s no surprise that their artwork is just as fun. An exhibit dedicated to their work will be on display at the Fond du Lac Public Library Langdon Divers Gallery March 2 to April 5.

'Irish of FDL' history programs March 17

The exodus of famine-fleeing Irish in the mid-1800s brought a surge of Irish people to the Midwest and, eventually, central Wisconsin. Local historian Tracy Reinhardt (whose father's family traces its roots to Inishcarra, County Cork) will present The Irish of Fond du Lac, at 2 p.m. and repeated at 6 p.m.

Red Cross blood drive March 31

The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive at the Fond du Lac Public Library from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31. Donors must be 17 years old (or 16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Donors can schedule their appointment at www.redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.
