Make it a Healthy Brain/Healthy Body summer

Together with several community partners, the Fond du Lac Public Library is offering a series of free, fun presentations this summer to help adults make summer 2016 full of healthy choices. Healthy Brain/Healthy Body is presented at 6 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month in June, July and August. All will be held in the library’s new, soon-to-open Idea Studio in the lower level.

  • Brain Food: 6 pm Tues June 14. Do you know what foods power your brain? Your food choices affect your day, your experiences, your sleep and your performance. Learn about simple choices to enhance brain power. Presented by Mary Houser, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with experience in program development and nutrition for all ages. Sponsored by ManorCare. With samples to try.
  • Brain Aerobics: 6 pm Tues July 12. Dementia can’t be prevented, but progression of the disease can be slowed through exercising the mind. You’ll learn everyday exercises and great information on better aging. Presented by Jen Fellin, Alzheimer’s Unit Director for Golden Living Centers and a certified dementia care practitioner and trainer. Sponsored by Generations Home Care and Hospice, Inc. With a fun, interactive trivia quiz.
  • Move Your Body: 6 pm Tues Aug 9. Learn a fitness and yoga routine you can do every day in your home. Presented by Lucy Mathers, life enrichment coordinator at Lake View Place and owner of the Twisted Warrior Yoga Studio in Fond du Lac. Sponsored by Lake View Place.
