Block Parties for kids 4-6 Mar 24

Simple wooden blocks. Not complicated. Nothing to plug in. Not trendy. But did you know that playing with blocks helps children develop skills that later will help them learn math and science, build vocabulary and exercise their dexterity?

Taking advantage of children’s natural capacity to learn, the Fond du Lac Public Library in partnership with UW-Extension Fond du Lac County, is throwing two Block Parties for children ages 4-6 and their parents at 10 a.m. and repeated at 4 p.m. Friday, March 24, at the library. The programs are free, but registration is required and begins at 9 a.m. Monday, March 13, at the Calendar, by calling (920) 322-3940 or in person at the Main Library’s Children’s Desk.

At the parties, adults will be given guidance on ways to use blocks to engage their children’s developing minds and bodies. All supplies provided.
