Summer 2017 programs for teens

Free programs for teens in grades 6-12. No registration.

Wigging Out on Wednesdays: 1 p.m. With door prizes every week, including $5 gift cards and books:

  • Jun 14: Kick-off Party, watch Doctor Strange (PG-13) and dig into a glorious popcorn buffet.
  • Jun 21: Idea Studio Immersion with 3-D doodle pens, Miracle Berry Tablets and more
  • Jun 28: Battle of the Movie Snackage. Who will win? “Batman vs. Superman” (PG-13)? Cheez-Its vs. Cheese Nips? Dark chocolate vs. milk?
  • Jul 5: Idea Studio Quick-fire Challenges: Engineering, building, Lego and more.
  • Jul 12: Song Writing Workshop. Music pros Big & Tall will guide the group through writing and composing an original song, which will be posted online.
  • Jul 19: Planetarium at the Boys and Girls Club. Planetarium show and spacy DIY activity.
  • Jul 26: Movie & Popcorn, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (PG-13).
  • Aug 2: Drum Circle & Kitchen Sink Band, a no-experience-required rhythm experience.

Pizza & Pages: 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Talk about great books, munch pizza and do a fun activity. Books are available for checkout now at the downtown library’s Main Desk.

Summer Wrap-up Pizza Party: 1 p.m. Saturday, August 12. Taste test local pizzas and crown the 2017 winner. Summer reading grand prizes and tons of other prizes will be drawn.
