Travel to Ethiopia with Breads of the World Jun 20

Injera, a delicious flatbread originating in Ethiopia, is typically made from teff flour and has a slightly spongy texture. The monthly Breads of the World demonstration program at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio will bring this exotic bread to cheese country at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 20. The program is free to adults and teens age 13 and older, but space is strictly limited. Online-only registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at fdlpl.org, click Calendar.

Library staff member Varsha Pathare will demonstrate the steps to make injera from start to finish.

Breads of the World in the Idea Studio demonstration kitchen features a different country’s bread every third Tuesday of the month taught by professional and amateur cooks from around the area. Coming up:

  • July 18: Cornish saffron bread, from England
  • August 15: German pretzel
  • September 19: U.S. sourdough

The Fond du Lac Public Library supports a high quality of life in Fond du Lac through reading, lifelong learning and community involvement.
