Learn to make Cornish saffron bread Jul 18

Cornish saffron bread is a sweet, fragrant fruit bread seasoned with the delicate flavor of saffron. Coming from the south of England, it’s no wonder it’s perfect with a cup of tea. The monthly Breads of the World demonstration program at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio will feature Cornish saffron bread at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 18. The program is free to adults and teens age 13 and older, but space is strictly limited. Online-only registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, at fdlpl.org, click Calendar.

Breads of the World in the Idea Studio demonstration kitchen features a different country’s bread every third Tuesday of the month taught by professional and amateur cooks from around the area. Coming up:

  • August 15: German pretzel
  • September 19: U.S. sourdough
  • October 17: Mexican pan de muertos
  • November 21: Italian ciabatta
  • December 19: Danish aebleskiver
