Sep 28 Memory Café explores the healing touch

Persons with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia, their caregivers and family members are invited to monthly Alzheimer’s Association Memory Cafés held at 1 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The programs are free; no registration required. Each month features a new theme:

  • September 28: Healing Touch. Sara Schneider of Balanced Massage shares the power of healing touch. We’ll also talk about the wonderful state and national parks in Wisconsin. Bring stories and photos of your favorite travels.
  • October 26: Old Time Radio. We’ll travel back in time to listen to some favorites, including Jack Benny, “Gunsmoke,” “Dragnet,” “Our Miss Brooks,” “An Evening with Groucho” and “Life of Riley,” to name a few. We’ll try our talent and become the characters for our own mini-radio program.

Memory Cafés are sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association; Legacies: Family and Organizational Historians; and the Fond du Lac Public Library. For more information about Memory Cafés or Alzheimer's disease, contact the Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 Helpline at (800) 272-3900.
