3-color pillowcase project Nov 15 & 16

Learn to make a great holiday gift – a three-color standard-size pillowcase – while getting trained on either the sewing machine or the serger in classes at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio. The free classes are open to adults and teens age 13 and older.

  • 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 15: Get trained on the Idea Studio sewing machine then sew the pillowcase. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, at fdlpl.org, click Calendar.
  • 4 p.m. Thursday, November 16: Get trained on the Idea Studio serger then sew the pillowcase. Sergers are specialized sewing machines that use multiple needles to create finished and trimmed seams. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, November 2, at fdlpl.org, click Calendar.

Attendees are required to bring their own fabric. Details about fabrics needed for the project are available at the Calendar and in a handout available now at the Idea Studio.

The Idea Studio makerspace is permanent do-it-yourself zone in the library’s lower level with equipment to use for free and DIY programming. Hours: Monday through Thursday, 3-8 p.m.; Friday 3-6 p.m.; and every second and fourth Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information is available at www.fdlpl.org/ideastudio or by calling (920) 322-3946 during studio open hours.
