Learn block-print carving Dec 2

Learn how to program the CNC Carvey machine to cut linoleum blocks for printing at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 2, at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio. Attendees will be trained on the Carvey and will learn about lino-block printing, including preparing and inking blocks, reviewing printmaker’s tools and how to use a small press. They’ll watch a demonstration of block carving and make a print from premade blocks, including designs and materials to print holiday cards. Materials provided. Free. For adults and teens age 13 and older. Registration is required at the Calendar.

The Idea Studio makerspace is permanent do-it-yourself zone in the library’s lower level with equipment to use for free and DIY programming. Hours: 3-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 3-6 p.m. Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
