January Events and Classes

Escape the house this winter and come to the library. We have events for every age. It might be cold outside but you can still have a Playdate at the library. We'll have fun toys and activities in the McLane Meeting Room for young children and caregivers on Mondays from 9:30-11:30. If you need an excuse to get out of the house and you want to hear some fantastic stories while you're at it, our new storytime session begins the week of January 15. Still feeling the winter blues? Dance them away at our Dance Party on January 20 at 10am.

For those a bit older, we will be holding Slime Science, the first of our STEAM class series, on January 11 at 6pm with a repeating session on January 25. Get ready for some oopy, goopy fun. Registration is required. If your passion runs more towards stealthy than slimy, then Spy School on January 19 at 4pm is a must. Learn the skills needed to be a Master Spy. If you successfully complete your training, you will earn a coveted Spy Certificate. Both classes are open to ages 8-12.

Don't worry teens, we haven't forgotten about you. Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to play Life-Size Clue at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30. The teens will serve as the famously named game pieces, such as Professor Plum, Colonel Mustard and Miss Scarlet and they will solve the murder mystery in a fun, life-size game. Snacks will be provided.

Adults if you're looking for an event or class for yourself, go to the Calendar to find out what the library is offering for adults this month.

All of these January programs for children and teens are free and drop-ins are welcome unless it's otherwise noted. You can register via the Fond du Lac Library Calendar or call the children's desk at 920-322-3940.
