Children’s Room short-term closure

The project to install new carpeting at the downtown Fond du Lac Public Library will force the closure of the Children’s Room for several days starting Monday, February 19. It is expected to reopen by Sunday, February 25.

“Closing the Children’s Room for a few days will shorten the time that space will be disrupted,” said Assistant Director Lori Burgess. “We’re taking this step to ensure the safety of our young visitors.”

During the temporary room closure, staff will be on hand to search for and retrieve anything the public needs. Programs for children, such as Storytimes, will continue as planned.

The library is in the midst of a major project to install new carpet on the first and second floors while rearranging some materials. When done, in mid-March, adult fiction books will be on the second floor, and newspapers and magazines will be on the first floor.

The Fond du Lac Public Library supports a high quality of life in Fond du Lac through reading, lifelong learning and community involvement. There are two locations: the Main Library downtown at 32 Sheboygan St., and FDLPL Express near Festival Foods at Highways 23 and 151. For more information, visit www.fdlpl.org.
