4-part Tech Basics starts Apr 4

The Moraine Park Technical College IT Club is offering a series of four free classes – Tech Basics – at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The classes, taught by members of the club, will offer user-friendly information for people who want to improve their knowledge and skills and who want to better understand their tech devices’ capabilities.

The series will take place at 6 p.m. every Wednesday in April. No registration required, and attendees don’t have to attend all four classes. Space is limited; seating is first-come, first-served. Attendees should bring their personal devices from home, including laptops, phones and tablets, as needed in each class. The lineup:

  • April 4: Mobile Device Basics. Tablets, phones, iOS (Apple) and Android basics covered.
  • April 11: Computer Basics. Computer operation, including browsing the web and organizing your desktop.
  • April 18: Security Basics. Security tips and best practices, from how to recognize malicious emails to installing antivirus protection.
  • April 25: Social Media Basics. How to use some of the common social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and more.

The Fond du Lac Public Library supports a high quality of life in Fond du Lac through reading, lifelong learning and community involvement.
