Game Kits

Have you checked out the Game Kits we have in the Cindy Barden Teacher's Resource Room? These kits and all the resources in this room can be checked out by anyone, not just teachers. Each kit comes with a unique zippered durable fabric storage bag that opens into a learning game. These learning games support readiness concepts and language skills. Each kit contains: children's concept book, fabric game mat/storage bag, die and movers. Learning hints and more fun things to do with each kit are printed on the game mat.

‘Wisconsin Remembers’ panels Apr 30-May 5

Wisconsin Remembers: A Face for Every Name, a display of 17 panels that put faces to the names of Wisconsinites listed on the Vietnam Wall, will be at the Fond du Lac Public Library April 30 to May 5.

4-part Tech Basics starts Apr 4

The Moraine Park Technical College IT Club is offering a series of four free classes – Tech Basics – at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The classes, taught by members of the club, will offer user-friendly information for people who want to improve their knowledge and skills and who want to better understand their tech devices’ capabilities.

Hand-sewers’ group meets Apr 25

The Fond du Lac Public Library hosts a monthly casual gathering of people interested in hand-sewing projects, From Our Hands. The group will meet from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, and will meet every fourth Wednesday of the month at the same time. Sewers of all skill levels are invited. Free. No registration.

Memory Café celebrates Earth Day Apr 26

Persons with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia, their caregivers and family members are invited to monthly Alzheimer’s Association Memory Cafés held at 1 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The programs are free; no registration required. Each month features a new theme:

Paper boxes aplenty Apr 21

Fold, tuck, bend. Using paper fancy and plain, crafters will learn the steps to make all sorts of paper boxes at the 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, Craftermorning program at the Fond du Lac Public Library. Supplies provided. The program is free and open to adults and teens age 13 and older. Registration is required and begins at 9:30 a.m.

Smell (and taste) the coffee Apr 17

Proving there’s more than just a satisfying drink behind the world’s favorite bean, Fond du Lac Public Library’s monthly Flavors of the World program will focus on coffee at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, Flavors of the World program in the Idea Studio. The program is free and open to adults and teens age13 and older. Registration is required and begins at 9:30 a.m.

'Balance' at library gallery in April

The Open Door Artists will present their 10th annual themed show April 4 to May 1 at the Fond du Lac Public Library Langdon Divers Gallery. The theme this year is Balance. The public is invited to reception at the gallery 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 11. Refreshments will be served.
