The Fond du Lac Public Library challenged local artists and photographers to submit illustrations for a new project, the My Favorite Fondy 2018 wall calendar, which will be sold later this year as a fundraiser.
The library received 60 entries, and on April 10 a VIP panel selected 12 winners in a blind review, in which entrants' names were not revealed and all submissions were given equal weight:

Like many communities in the early 1900s, Fond du Lac struggled with how to care for orphaned or abandoned children. Fond du Lac decided that rather than send these children to big facilities in bigger towns and cities, they would care for them here in the Children’s Home. Active for more than 50 years, the Children’s Home was a sprawling complex located at 35 W. Follett St.
It's the last Teen Library Council meeting of the school year (already!): 1 p.m. Sunday, April 9. Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to come to the Fond du Lac Public Library to talk about summer programs and prizes. Snacks and fun provided. Our motto: Be heard, be fed, be happy. Free. Every April, the Fond du Lac Public Library buzzes with activity. April is the time to celebrate National Library Week (April 9-15) and Money Smart Week (April 22-29). It’s a time for programming, learning and having fun. At the Fond du Lac Public Library, it’s also a time for fine forgiveness.
Recently, the Children's department was asked to compile a list of great books for babies for a local service group. Not toddlers or preschoolers, but great fit books for babies This got us thinking about all of the great reasons why we read to babies long before they are able to read with us or understand the plot of a book.
