2nd-annual Teen Art Contest: What Colors Your World?
Rules & guidelines
Eligibility: FDLPL Teen Art Contest 2021 is open to students in grades 6 through 12 who attend school or are homeschooled in Fond du Lac County. FDLPL employees and members of their immediate families are not eligible to enter (but are welcome to submit pieces for display that would be ineligible for judging or prizes).
Theme: Teen artists are asked to submit pieces that portray the theme, What Colors Your World?
Terms: Contest ends at 4 pm on July 31, 2021. All pieces submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them.
Prizes: One grand prize of $250 Visa gift card will be awarded to the Best in Show. Recognition will be given to second place and the winner of the People’s Choice. The three winners will be framed and placed on display through July 31, 2022, in the library’s Teen section.
What to enter: Drawings, paintings, sketches, collage -- any two-dimensional art that fits on a standard 8½-by-11-inch (letter) sized piece of paper. Entries larger than 8½ by 11 inches will not be accepted. Contestants are limited to three entries per person.
How to enter:
- Drop off: Bring artwork entries to the Fond du Lac Public Library Children’s Desk any time during regular open hours Thursday, July 1, through 4 p.m. Saturday, July 31. Teens will be required to fill out an entry blank with the following information: Name, mailing address, school, grade, email address, phone number and title of entry.
- By mail: Mail artwork to: Teen Art Contest, Attn: Children’s Desk, 32 Sheboygan St., Fond du Lac WI 54935. Must be postmarked by July 31, 2021. Each entry must be accompanied by a separate sheet that includes name, mailing address, school, grade, email address, phone number and title of entry.
- Note: Late or incomplete entries will be discarded. No entries will be accepted by email.
Judging and display: A panel of qualified judges selected by FDLPL will review entries after July 31, 2021. Winners will be informed soon thereafter. Winning entries will be displayed in the library’s Teen section by Sept. 1, 2021.
Teens whose work is not selected for framing can pick up their pieces at the Children’s Desk. All works remaining at the library on Sep 1, 2021, will be discarded.
