1. Understand the project

  • Napkin rings can be a shape of your choice
  • Depending on size and shape, five to six napkin rings can generally be cut from a single 5.5” x 12” piece of ¾” thick wood
  • The napkin rings in the set can all be the same, or each one can be different

10. Finishing steps

Check the time the job will take

  • In the lower right-hand corner, click on the “Simulate” button. This will calculate the time the Carvey will take to cut the project

Send us the link

  • From the upper toolbar, click on “File,” then “Share”
  • Select “Shared with link”
  • Select and copy the link it gives you
  • Click “Save”
  • Paste that link into an email and send it to ideastaff@fdlpl.org

To cut the piece yourself

  • If desired, a piece of mahogany can be purchased from the Idea Studio for $3 until supplies run out
  • If you are not already badged on the Carvey, contact us at ideastaff@fdlpl.org to set up a time to get trained on the machine

Finishing steps

  • The finished project benefits from being sanded to remove cutting burrs and round sharp edges
  • If desired, the finished project can be painted or given a coat of wood finish
