June 1 - July 31, 2022

  • Open to students going into grades 6-12 this fall, who attend school or are homeschooled in Fond du Lac County. (FDLPL employees/families not eligible.)
  • Submit pieces that portray the theme, Fondy's Hidden Highlights
    • Find beautiful locations around Fond du Lac that may be overlooked or even looked down upon!
    • Create art that represents those locations.
    • You may choose to ironically incorporate "negative reviews" of these sites as a way to show they really are wonderful.
    • For an example, check out the book Subpar Parks by Amber Share.
  • Contest ends July 31, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.
  • All pieces submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them.
  • What to enter: Drawings, paintings, sketches, photos, collage - get creative! Any two-dimensional art that fits on a standard 8.5x11 inch (letter) piece of paper.
    • Larger entries will not be accepted.
    • Limit of three entries per person.

  • Judging and display: A panel of qualified judges selected by FDLPL will review entries after July 31, 2022. Winners will be informed shortly thereafter. Winning entries will be displayed in the library's Teen section by September 1, 2022.
  • Prizes: A special prize will be awarded to the Best in Show. Recognition will be given to second place, and the winner of the People's Choice. The three winners will be framed and placed on display through July 31, 2023, in the library's Teen section.
