Money Smart Week 2018: Side hustles, tiny homes & more

Ever think, I could have invented that? Ever wonder how your bright idea might fare on the open market? Tammy Duchow did. Not only did her Critter Cuddler get off the ground, it went from a bright idea to an As Seen on TV featured item in under two years. Along the way, she picked up valuable information on breaking into the coveted Amazon marketplace.

Duchow will share her story in two sessions during Money Smart Week, April 21-28, 2018. An initiative of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, in partnership with the Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy, Money Smart Week presents seminars, activities and programs for all ages to help consumers better manage their personal finances.

Both of Duchow’s presentations on Tuesday, April 24, are free:

  • The Zon Factor, 1 p.m. at the Fond du Lac Public Library. Duchow will share “10 Ways Any Business Can Benefit By Leveraging the Power of Amazon.” The presentation will be simulcast on Facebook Live @ moneysmartweekFDLcounty. She’ll sell and sign copies of her book.
  • The Art of the Side Hustle, 5 p.m. registration, 5:30 p.m. presentation at Green Dragon Brewpub, 156 Western Ave. Duchow will describe how her product, the Critter Cuddler, went from idea to $125,000 in sales to an As Seen on TV product in less than two years. This event is in partnership with Young Professionals of FDL, in celebration of Young Professionals Week. Registration is recommended at ypfdl.org/hustle.
