Meet the Idea Studio’s new X-Carve CNC router
Discover the Idea Studio’s new CNC router, the X-Carve by Inventables, during the month of September at the Fond du Lac Public Library.
Training opportunities, as well as public access to the router, will be available throughout the month. The X-Carve was added to the Idea Studio in spring, but this will be the public’s first chance to work directly with the machine. To register for training, visit calendar.fdlpl.org.
Also, watch for news of our upcoming seven-week robot build, coming soon to the Idea Studio.
The Idea Studio is a makerspace: a permanent do-it-yourself zone where people can gather to create, invent, and learn. It includes work tables, laptops, equipment, and projects, and is open to anyone age 13 and older. Children under 13 are welcome if accompanied by a parent or caretaker.
Some equipment is available for use without prior training, whereas other equipment requires a user to first become "badged" before use. There is no fee for use of equipment, but some have fees for supplies, or require users to bring their own supplies.
