Get a library card
Library cards are available at the downtown library's Main Desk and at the Allen J. Buechel Branch near Festival Foods. You must go in person and bring proof of address (like a driver’s license or state ID with your current address). If your driver's license or state ID does not list your current address, you must bring another document, such as a lease, utility bill or credit card statement, that shows your current address. Minors under age 16 require a parent's signature. The process just takes a few minutes. We do not issue cards over the phone or by email.
You do not have to be a Fond du Lac resident to get a FDLPL card. We will issue a card to anyone with proof of address. If you live out of state, you will receive a limited card (maximum 3 checkouts).
FDLPL may issue internet-only cards for people without proof of address, which can be used to access online resources and the library's internet computers, but cannot be used to check out materials.
