Flavors of the World: Mustard Sep 18
Mustard and Wisconsin go together like, well, beer and cheese. So naturally, the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Flavors of the World program must give mustard its due. To do so, it went to the expert. At 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, Barry Levenson, founder and curator of The Mustard Museum, will demonstrate recipes that put his favorite flavor front and center. The program is free and open to adults and teens age 13 and older. Space is limited. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, at the Calendar.
Levenson, former assistant attorney general for Wisconsin, opened The Mustard Museum in 1992. Since then, the museum, now located in Middleton, WI, has gained national attention. It’s been featured on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” “Jeopardy!” and countless television and radio shows.
Flavors of the World takes place in the Idea Studio demonstration kitchen every third Tuesday. Registration for each program begins at 9:30 a.m. two weeks before. The remaining Flavors of the World schedule:
- October 16: Sage, presented by Pedro Arellano
- November 20: Curry powder and garam masala, presented by Varsha Pathare
- December 18: Soy sauce, presented by Dusty Krikau
The Idea Studio is the library’s makerspace, a permanent do-it-yourself zone in the lower level with a demonstration kitchen, equipment to use for free and DIY programming.
