The Fond du Lac Public Library hosts a monthly casual gathering of people interested in hand-sewing projects, From Our Hands. The group will meet from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, and will meet every fourth Wednesday of the month at the same time. Sewers of all skill levels are invited. Bring a lunch. Free. No registration.

The gathering will be coordinated by Katie Wild, of Ripon, who enjoys garment sewing, embroidery, cross-stitch, rug hooking, punch needle, wool applique and quilting. After operating a quilt and rug-hooking shop in Ripon for more than 10 years, she moved the business to her home.
