Fond du Lac City Manager Joe Moore will talk about the local economy, downtown Fond du Lac and will present highlights from city departments to kick off the Fond du Lac Public Library’s new Community Chat series at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 3. The program is free; no registration required.

Community Chat programs will give residents opportunities to hear directly from local government and nonprofit organizations. Representatives will share information about costs, goals, accomplishments and more. The informal programs will take place every first Thursday of the month.

As the city’s chief executive officer, a position he’s held since 2012, Moore leads more than 350 people. His background includes U.S. Army service commanding military bases in Europe and Asia and as policy adviser at the Pentagon. He holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Architecture from Virginia Tech. Moore and his wife, Molly, have two daughters enrolled in college.

  • March 7: Troy Haase from the FDL Fire Dept.
  • April 4: Jackie Braatz and Kristen Theisen of the City of FDL Human Resources Dept.
  • May 2: Jordan Skiff of the City of FDL Public Works Dept.
