Librarian Sarah Newton will demonstrate how to make decadent Austrian Sachertorte, a chocolate layer cake with apricot jam filling, at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Desserts of the World program 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 19. The free program is for adults and teens 13 and older. Space is limited, and registration is required beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, at the Calendar.

Desserts of the World takes place every third Tuesday of the month, when local and regional foodies will demonstrate and share recipes of desserts from different countries. Each program requires separate registration, which begins at 9:30 a.m. two weeks in advance of the program date. The upcoming schedule:

  • March 19: Greece with Sue Demos
  • April 16: Italy with Kay Bastian
  • May 21: Pakistan with Abby Chaudhry
