Jeanna Giese was a normal, healthy teen who loved animals. When she removed a small bat from her church in September 2004, her parents didn’t think anything about the small bite she received. Within six weeks she could barely move. Doctors gave her less than four hours to live. After a week in an experimental, medically-induced coma, Giese had to relearn how to speak, drink and walk.
Join Giese as she shares her story of the recovery that put her in a global spotlight as one of a handful of persons to survive rabies at 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The program is free; no registration required.
