Not sure how to use a computer or smartphone? Not comfortable with surfing the web? (Or know someone who isn't?)

A series of classes at the Fond du Lac Public Library during the month of October will help.

During “Everything You Wanted to Know About Smartphones but were afraid to ask,” learn how to use these highly mobile computers that have become an important part of daily life. Library staff will offer a beginner’s guide to smartphones on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. in the Mid-States Room at the library.

Register by visiting calendar.fdlpl.org, or call our Reference Desk at 920-322-3930.

Individuals seeking help with full-size computers may stop in to the Fond du Lac Public Library on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. to noon during October in the McLane Room. Two of those sessions, Oct. 13 and Oct. 27, will offer drop-in assistance with no registration necessary; stop in any time to let FDLPL’s reference staff answer any computer questions.

Registration will be required for two other staff-led training opportunities:

  • On Oct. 6, learn how to set up and use email.
  • On Oct. 20, learn how to download and save documents on a computer.

To participate in either the Oct. 6 or 20 program, call the library’s Reference Desk at 920-322-3930. Laptops are available to use if you don't have your own device.

For any of these in-person programs, masks will be required for participants.
