A dog-themed exhibit will visit the Langdon Divers Community Gallery during August at the Fond du Lac Public Library.

Madison-based painterTimothy Brenner, whose primary interest is dogs, will show “Who Let the Dogs Out?” from Wednesday, Aug. 7 to Tuesday, Sept. 3.

"I developed an interest in painting dogs after being in a show in 2020 that was simply titled ‘The Dog Show,’” he said. "I was reluctant to paint dogs at first because dog paintings are often thought of in a negative manner as decorative, cliché, or crafty, but I found that I like making paintings of dogs as they are simple to paint and can be used as stand-ins for human emotions."

An artist reception is tentatively planned for Thursday, Aug. 8 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Langdon Divers Gallery.

The Langdon Divers Community Gallery is open seven days a week, whenever the Fond du Lac Public Library is open at 32 Sheboygan St. The gallery may be found off the atrium at the south entrance to the Main Library.
