Love history? Visit the Fond du Lac Public Library during October to learn about the history of food preservation. 

RESCHEDULED FOR SPRING 2025, DATE TBA: On Thursday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m., learn about Fond du Lac’s Pier Cemetery as well as the people who are buried there. Tom Brown will tell the story of this cemetery that dates back to the early days of the community during History at Home. No registration necessary. The presentation will be held in the McLane Room, or watch it live on Facebook @FDLPL. History at Home is held monthly, covering topics of local and regional interest.

Then, on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. in the McLane Room, join Serving Up History to learn how food was preserved through the ages. This one-hour program will take a look at how food was utilized and preserved through the ages including its journey from crop to table and beyond. 

This program is perfect for family historians looking to round out a day in the life of an ancestor's story, or anyone else who has an interest in historic foodways and life in the past. No registration required.
