Canceled: Idea Studio programs Mar 16-Apr 30
All Fond du Lac Public Library programs March 16 through April 30 are canceled due to public health concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Registration starts Feb. 27, Robotics Blastoff, 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12. For kids in grades 4-9. In this introduction to robotics, kids will learn how to write computer code to make a robot complete specific challenges. Each participant will get hands-on experience making a robot move, use sensors and succeed at tasks, earning points for each challenge completed. Robots will be provided to use during the session. Attendees should have basic computer skills (mouse and keyboarding). Free. Space is limited. Registration is required and begins at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Calendar.
Registration starts March 3, Laser-engraved Denim Class, 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at the Fond du Lac Public Library Idea Studio, 32 Sheboygan St. For adults 18 and older. Learn how to use the laser cutter to engrave designs in denim brought from home. Free. Registration is required and begins at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, at the Calendar, where you’ll find details on required supplies from home.
Ukulele Club, 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7. Informal, drop-in group for uke players of all ages and skill levels to learn songs, practice and share. BYO uke; a limited number of instruments is available to borrow during the meeting. Free. No registration.
Registration starts March 12, Cake Decorating Basics, 6 p.m. Thursday, March 26. For adults and teens 13 and older; younger children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Learn surprisingly simple ways to turn cakes and cupcakes into showpieces from instructor Penny Serwe of North Fond du Lac. Attendees must bring unfrosted cupcakes or a cake in a carry case.
