Desserts of the World kicks off with India Jan 15
Mumbai-born Varsha Pathare will demonstrate how to make two desserts from her homeland: Gajar Halwa (a rich carrot pudding) and Kheer (vermicelli pudding), in the Tuesday, January 15, inaugural Desserts of the World program at the Fond du Lac Public Library.
The free program is for adults and teens 13 and older. Space is limited, and registration is required beginning s at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 1, at fdlpl.org, click Calendar.
Desserts of the World takes place every third Tuesday of the month, when local and regional foodies will demonstrate and share recipes of desserts from different countries. Each program requires separate registration, which begins at 9:30 a.m. two weeks in advance of the program date. The upcoming schedule:
- February 19: Austria with Sarah Newton
- March 19: Greece with Sue Demos
- April 16: Italy with Kay Bastian
- May 21: Pakistan with Abby Chaudhry
