Discover what you can create at the Fond du Lac Public Library during May
Feeling creative? Try these crafty, creative and tasty events scheduled during May at the Fond du Lac Public Library.
All month long, adults, teens and youth (ages 6+) are invited to participate in the Tiny Writing Contest. Visit the library’s Landon Divers Community Gallery and find a piece of Tiny Art that inspires you. Then write anything 300 words or fewer inspired by that piece. Learn more at calendar.fdlpl.org.
Prefer art you can hold? Try one or more of these three art events planned this month:
- Revel in campy and tacky art during Bad Art Night on Monday, May 6 at 6 p.m. in the McLane Room. This month, the theme is Bad Art Trophies. All supplies will be provided; register now at calendar.fdlpl.org.
- Prefer to dabble with yarn? Drop into Yarn It All on Thursday, May 9 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on the lower level of the library. Bring your latest project and chat with fellow yarn crafters at the library, whether you knit, crochet, cross stitch and more. No sign up necessary; bring your own supplies.
- Or, join library staff Monday, May 13 at 6 p.m. in the McLane Room, to create Beaded Dragonflies during Evening Craft Class. All supplies will be provided. Register now at calendar.fdlpl.org.
You can get creative with food, too. Join Mocktail Mixology on Thursday, May 16 at 6 p.m. in the McLane Room to learn how to make a few craft, non-alcoholic cocktails just in time for summer. Library staff will demonstrate a few recipes, and participants may try samples. To participate, register between May 2 and 14 at calendar.fdlpl.org.
