Discover the work of a professional pixel artist with the Idea Studio
Join pixel artist and animator John Stratman as he discusses his influences and process, and demonstrates his craft at the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio.
On Tuesday, March 22 at 6 p.m., Stratman will present “Beyond the Bit: Creativity, Inspiration, and Nostalgia with Pixel Artist John Stratman.” His work has been viewed millions of times on YouTube, and featured by Time magazine, the Huffington Post and others. The Idea Studio also will invite makers to celebrate St. Patty’s Day by creating 3-D printed charms on Thursday, March 17 at 6 p.m. Get badged (or enjoy a refresher course if it’s been awhile) on the Idea Studio’s Prusa i3 MK3S printers while making miniature keepsakes in the process. Learn how to operate the 3-D printer, import/open files into the 3-D printing slicing software, select and load filament, start a print, and more.

The Idea Studio is open for limited walk-in visits Monday through Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Equipment also may be reserved for use at fdlpl.org/ideastudio.
