Did you ever read one of those books that keeps you on the edge of your seat? One of those that you can’t put down, and just when you think you know what is going to happen - BAM - total surprise ending. Unexpected endings are what make a book exciting. I hand picked a few that I recently read and hope you end up on the edge of your seat as well!

The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen

Marissa and Mathew Bishop seem like the golden couple--until Marissa cheats. She wants to repair things, both because she loves her husband and for the sake of their 8-year-old son. After a friend forwards an article about therapist Avery Chambers, Marissa takes a chance on this maverick therapist, who lost her license due to controversial methods. When the Bishops glide through Avery's door and Marissa reveals her infidelity, all three are set on a collision course. Because the biggest secrets in the room are still hidden.

Nightwork by Nora Roberts

Nora Roberts introduces an unforgettable thief in a new novel of suspense, greed, love, and survival... Harry Booth started stealing at nine to keep a roof over his ailing mother's head, slipping into luxurious, empty homes at night to find items he could trade for precious cash. When his mother finally succumbed to cancer, he left Chicago--but kept up his nightwork. When you find out why it might just break your heart. Follow Harry through multiple adventures until the surprise at the end.

  The favor by Nora Murphy

Leaving would be dangerous. Staying could be worse. Leah and McKenna have never met, though they have parallel lives. Both their lives have all the trappings of success, wealth and happiness, they are, in fact, trapped. Leah understands that what's inside a home can be far more dangerous than what's outside. So when she notices someone else who may be starting down the same path she's on, she pays attention. She watches over McKenna from afar. Until one night she sees more than she bargained for.

Wait for me by Susan May Warren

Like a little romance with your suspense? Susan May Warren provides plenty of both in this one. When two women go missing in the Montana wilderness, Pete Brooks must trust his skills, teammates--and the woman who broke his heart--if he hopes to bring them all home alive

The younger wife by Sally Hepworth

Stephen Aston is getting married again. The only problem is, he's still married to his first wife, even though she is in a care facility for dementia. But he'll take care of that easily, by divorcing her--even if his adult daughters protest. With their mother unable to speak for herself, daughters Tully and Rachel are determined to get to the truth about their family's secrets, the new wife closing in, and who their father really is. But will getting to the truth unleash the most dangerous impulses...in all of them?

Good rich people by Eliza Jane Brazier

A destitute woman pretends to be someone else and moves into the lower floor of a Los Angeles duplex, and inadvertently becomes a target in the twisted game of the wealthy family upstairs. All out of money and friends couches to sleep on, Demi is desperate. Lucky for her, a stranger presents her with the chance of a lifetime: a new identity and the downstairs apartment in a secluded Beachwood Canyon duplex. It turns out to be part of a rich couple’s game - and we all know this game can only end in one way...winner takes all.

Left to die by Lisa Jackson

Like scary suspense? A serial killer in Montana sets up car accidents for women driving down secluded roads, rescues and seduces them and then ties them to trees and leaves them to die. Detectives Selena Alvarez and Regan Pescoli are on the case. But, will they find the killer in time?

The overnight guest by Heather Gudenkauf

True crime writer Wylie Lark doesn't mind being snowed in at the isolated farmhouse where she's retreated to write her new book. A cozy fire, complete silence. It would be perfect, if not for the fact that decades earlier, at this very house, two people were murdered in cold blood and a girl disappeared without a trace. As the storm worsens, Wylie finds herself trapped inside the house, haunted by the secrets contained within its walls. But soon it becomes clear that the farmhouse isn't as isolated as she thought, and someone is willing to do anything to find them.
