Fall into a great program in the Children's Room at the FDL Public Library
Celebrate fall with fun and educational programming available from the Fond du Lac Public Library.
On Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 am until noon, join the library for a special outdoor celebration – the Fall Family Festival – at the Denevue Shelter at Lakeside Park. With fun activities for kids as well as opportunities for the adults to meet with representatives of local organizations, this will be a valuable and exciting event for all ages. Be sure to enter the raffle while visiting as well.
Meanwhile, the library also will hold its second in a series of Fall Reading Workshops for parents and caregivers focused on the theme of preparing young children for future success in school through literacy.
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, visit the Discovery Room at 1 p.m. for “Reading Out Loud with Kids.” Get the tools to select the best books to read. Building from the science of early childhood development, learn how to apply that information to how you present and read books to kids. No registration required.
Have old Halloween costumes you’d like to trade in?
Participate in the Fond du Lac Public Library’s Costume Swap. Drop off gently used, washed costumes through Oct. 6 at the Main Library. Then visit either of two pick-up dates for a new-to-you costume. Pick-up events will be Friday, Oct. 11 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the McLane Room, while supplies last.
