FDL author to sell, sign horror novel Jul 27
Fond du Lac author Cailyn Lloyd will sell and sign copies of her debut horror novel, “Shepherd’s Warning: Sometimes You Shouldn’t Go Home,” from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 27, at Chapter 52 Bookstore, 52 Sheboygan St.
Spooky “Shepherd’s Warning” is set in rural Wisconsin, where for years the abandoned MacKenzie mansion has remained hidden. Rumors of apparitions, odd noises, accidents and strange deaths keep townsfolk away. But when brothers Lucas and Nate MacKenzie inherit the property, they start a major renovation project with reality TV stardom in mind. As they tear out old fixtures and open shuttered windows, the house begins to reveal secrets of a terrible past. Soon becomes clear the MacKenzies are in grave danger. In the end, only one person can save them.
Lloyd, who lives near Kettle Moraine State Forest, says her book was influenced by the three years she lived in a haunted house. In addition to writing, Lloyd is an accomplished weather photographer, composer and musician.
