FDL Library cancels programs, takes COVID-19 preventative measures
Fond du Lac Public Library Director Jon Mark Bolthouse announced on Friday that the library was taking preventative measures, including canceling programming, to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
“We are doing so to protect the health of our patrons, our staff and our community,” Bolthouse said. “By eliminating gatherings and taking measures to reduce public areas of contact, we hope to do our part in keeping the spread in check.”
Here are the measures the library is adopting:
- Cancel or postpone all library programs and room reservations March 16 through April 30. Some programs might be offered via Facebook Live. Patrons are asked to refer to the online Calendar at fdlpl.org for up-to-date information.
- Idea Studio will be open for equipment use only (no laptops, craft kits, etc.) through April.
- Increased cleaning of all surfaces, equipment, furniture, etc., including wiping down all materials as they are returned.
- Remove hard-to-clean toys from the Children’s Room.
- Reduce the number of computers available to the public to increase person-to-person distancing.
“We ask your patience as we put these changes into effect; there will be bumps in the road as we navigate this new territory,” Bolthouse said. “We’re staying on top of developments in this pandemic and will keep you, our patrons, informed of any adjustments to our plans as the situation demands.”
