Former FDL resident will give presentation on her new book at library
Join former Fond du Lac resident Arletta Allen on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. as she gives a presentation and signs her new book, "Defy the Odds: Making the Transition from Trauma to Triumph."
The presentation and book signing will be held in the McLane Room; no registration is necessary to attend.
Allen is CEO of Authentically Arletta Unlimited LLC. Prior to moving away from Fond du Lac, she owned A Family Affair Soulfood Kitchen in Fond du Lac and was a member of the Fond du Lac City Council.
In her new book, Allen shares her inspirational story of a Black woman who takes the reader on a poignant journey. According to the book description, she will take the reader on her personal journey from a traumatic place of despair, despondence, and insecurity while inspiring and empowering the reader to defy the odds on their own personal journey.
Allen also is a sought-after guest of the media on the topics of coping with trauma, first-generation college students, leadership, authenticity, resilience, self-sufficiency, and defying the odds. She regularly contributes to the media via Podcast interviews, NBC, NBC Nightly News, Fox Valley 365 Magazine, Inspire Women’s Magazine, New North Magazine and more.
