What’s better than enjoying a good book on a warm, summer day? How about some ice cream too?

If community members can read and log 2 million minutes by the end of the Summer Reading Program on Aug. 15, the Fond du Lac Public Library will give away ice cream on Sunday, Aug. 22 beginning at noon at the Main Library.

It’s a sweet deal, but readers need to earn it. Visit Beanstack to log your minutes of reading. Kids and adults of all ages are invited to participate and earn a prize for every five hours of reading logged (up to 20 hours).

Already registered but forgot to log your minutes? It’s not too late; register those minutes on Beanstack or bring paper cards to the library through Aug. 15.

If the community hits the 2 million minutes goal, the library will celebrate with an ice cream giveaway on Sunday, Aug. 22! Ice cream will be first-come, first-served beginning at noon; availability will be limited.

Don’t forget to enjoy a visit from the Green Lake Festival of Music Brass Quintet on July 29 at 10 a.m., the Teen Photo Scavenger Hunt that concludes Aug. 13, and the Family Photo Scavenger Hunt that runs through Aug. 15. Learn more at fdlpl.org/summer2021.
