Goodrich High alum Judy Towne Jennings went on to graduate from the University of Iowa and then to a physical therapy career specializing in early childhood development. But that changed when her husband was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia.

Jennings will present Calamity Happens: Accepting the Adventure about illness, retirement and widowhood at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 15, at the Fond du Lac Public Library. The program is free; no registration required.

Jennings will sell and sign copies of the two books she wrote about her experiences, Living With Lewy Body Dementia, One Caregiver's Personal, In-Depth Experience and The Wonderful World of Widowhood ... Except When It Isn’t.

Jennings graduated from Goodrich High in 1963. Her talk about her experiences in caregiving and widowhood will explore how choices and humor can make any situation an adventure.
