Learn about new X-Carve CNC router at Idea Studio
Through live and pre-recorded elements, join staff of Fond du Lac Public Library’s Idea Studio as they preview one of the Idea Studio’s new equipment acquisitions: an X-Carve CNC router by Inventables.
On Tuesday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m., Idea Studio staff will show some ways of using the X-Carve. This machine replaces our end-of-life Carvey desktop CNC router, allowing larger projects using the same design program. Both machines use a router to carve designs into wood and other materials.
We’ll show how the X-Carve is set up, some features and differences with the Carvey, and talk about how the machine will be offered for use in FDLPL’s Idea Studio makerspace in the future.
Staff will be available to answer questions. No registration required. To follow and participate, watch the program at www.facebook.com/ideastudioFDLPL.
The Idea Studio also continues to offer online project setup/consultations and pickup of projects. For 3D printing, sublimation printing of masks and mugs, and button-making, patrons can schedule an online setup session with Idea Studio staff. They then can pick up and pay (if applicable) for that project when their project is ready. Previous training to use this service is not required.
