One way to combat the harsh toll that forced-air heating takes on your skin, while saving money to boot, is to make your own soap. Part three in the Fond du Lac Public Library’s DIY Skin Care series demonstrates the steps to make a variety of soaps at home.

At 6 p.m. Monday, November 12, attendees will learn how to make soaps that don’t rely on caustic chemicals and finicky formulas. The program is free and open to adults and teens age 13 and older. Samples will be provided. Registration is required and begins at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 29, at fdlpl.org, click Calendar.

Separate registration is required for the final program in the series: Lotions, 6 p.m. Monday, December 10. Make soothing and infinitely customizable lotions at home. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. Monday, November 26, at fdlpl.org, click Calendar.
