Join the Fond du Lac Public Library on Wednesday, Feb. 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. as the library celebrates the reopening of its Allen J. Buechel Branch with an open house.

Drop in anytime during the open house for self-guided tours of the space, photos with library mascot Browser the dog, cupcakes, and more.

The Buechel Branch has been open since Feb. 1 at its new location of 1139 E. Johnson St. after a temporary closure during its move from elsewhere in the Festival Foods plaza.

The new location, found between GNC and FreshFit Cafe, just east of Festival Foods, is now closer to stores customers are already visiting. It also now offers a 24/7 indoor book drop so that library users can stay out of inclement weather while dropping off materials.

The move was necessitated by the owners of the Johnson Crossing plaza, where a new clinic for Froedert & the Medical College of Wisconsin will be constructed in and around the space formerly occupied by the Buechel Branch.

The Buechel Branch continues to offer the same great to-go collection of materials with best-sellers and new releases. The branch also will continue to offer a sizable children’s corner, as well as large print, movies, cookbooks, magazines, audiobooks and more. The branch will continue to be a convenient location to pick up holds placed online at fdlpl.org.

Discover all that the Buechel Branch offers during the open house on Feb. 21.
