In the spooky spirit? Join the Idea Studio at the Fond du Lac Public Library to create silly and scary seasonal projects to put a chill in the air

  • Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. — Let’s Make Laser Cut Spooky Stencils: Get badged on our Full Spectrum Laser engraver/cutter, and make Halloween-themed stencils to take home. Designs will be provided. Register at calendar.fdlpl.org
  • Thursday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. — Let’s Make 3-D Printed Halloween Charms: Get badged on the Prusa i3 MK3S printers and make boo-tiful keepsakes. Thirteen designs available; also choose from dozens of filament colors, along with chain-links & accessories. Register online at calendar.fdlpl.org
  • Monday, Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. — Let’s Make Pepper’s Ghost Illusion with Carvey CNC Router: Ever been to the Haunted Mansion at a Disney park and wondered how the mansion got so haunted? Discover the secrets of the Imagineers’ ghostly projections while learning how to use the Carvey CNC Router. Get badged for use on the machine & related design software. Then, cut and assemble a stand capable of producing the Pepper’s Ghost Illusion on a small-scale. Materials provided. Register at calendar.fdlpl.org

New to the Idea Studio? Let staff give you a full tour during Take a Turn through the Idea Studio on Monday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. Visit to see all of the Idea Studio’s equipment; projects will be available to try at each station. Register at calendar.fdlpl.org.

Community members also may join the Fond du Lac Press Club (for Printmakers) on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. for informal demonstrations and a chance to try out printmaking techniques free with our supplies. We’ll provide everything you need and welcome everyone from aspiring printmakers with no experience to seasoned experts looking to play. 

This event is best for adults and teens age 13 and older; younger children are allowed with a parent or caregiver. Register at calendar.fdlpl.org.

The Idea Studio is open for walk-in visits Monday through Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
