April 8-12 is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin. The National Weather Service, Fond du Lac County Emergency Management and the Fond du Lac Public Library are partnering to present a two-part severe weather program on Tuesday, April 9, at the downtown Main Library. The programs are free; no registration required.
Tim Halbach of the National Weather Service in Milwaukee with Bobbi Hicken, director of Fond du Lac County Communications & Emergency Management, will present information on two topics:
- 1-2 p.m.: Severe weather safety – Wisconsin-specific information about hazardous weather and staying safe.
- 2-3 p.m.: Storm spotter training – How to safely spot and report hazardous weather to the National Weather Service. The service relies on on-the-ground reports to maintain accuracy.
