Heat up the cold days to come with Fond du Lac Public Library’s new Winter Reading Program.

Filled with rewards for reading and library engagement activities, the Winter Reading Program will run from Monday, Nov. 30 to Sunday, Jan. 17. Different challenges will be available for each of four age groups: Pre-readers, Elementary, Teens, and Adults. Patrons who complete challenges will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win a prize in each of these age groups.

As part of the new program, Fond du Lac Public Library will introduce Beanstack, a new online app for recording participation in the program. Accessible from fdlpl.org, Beanstack can record each of the milestones participants reach in the Winter Reading Program. Use of Beanstack is free for all Fond du Lac Public Library patrons, and easy to use.

This app also will be used in the future for other reading challenges Fond du Lac Public Library will offer, such as its annual Summer Reading Program. Registering for Beanstack now will prepare patrons for participation in those future challenges as well.

Patrons who prefer to participate in the Winter Reading Challenge offline may pick up a game card for any age category at Fond du Lac Public Library, or download it off fdlpl.org.

The Fond du Lac Public Library serves patrons through reading, lifelong learning and community involvement at two locations: the Main Library downtown at 32 Sheboygan St., and FDLPL Express near Festival Foods.
