Get creative in May in the Idea Studio at the FDL Public Library

Bring your ideas to life during May in the Idea Studio at the Fond du Lac Public Library.
On Wednesday, May 1 at 6 p.m., join the Idea Studio’s first meetup to learn about the “Boomerang Bag” project that began in Australia in 2013. Watch a short TedX talk and receive a pattern for making bags. Get badged the Idea Studio’s sewing machines and serger as well. To participate, register at calendar.fdlpl.org
Then, join either of two Let’s Make events:
- On Monday, May 6 at 6 p.m., earn a badge for use of the Idea Studio’s Janome sewing machine to make an eye mask for sleeping to take home. For ages 13 and over. Register required at calendar.fdlpl.org
- Or, on Monday, May 13 at 6 p.m., take the required training to earn a badge for use of the sublimation printer and heat press. Participants aso will get to make their own drink koozie to take home. For ages 13+. Register at calendar.fdlpl.org
Prefer to create with paper? Join the Cut & Paste Club on Wednesday, May 22 to create Geometric Paper Collages. Learn how to make an easy geometric paper collage using a variety of different papers while following along with Lisa Congdon on the Creativebug website. No registration required.
The Idea Studio is open for walk-in visits Monday through Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
