Beginning readers
It's exciting when a child begins to read! The library has a collection of books for this stage in the reading process called Beginning Readers. Beginning Readers are special because they have controlled vocabulary, simple plots, a lot of white space, larger print and they work with context clues. All of these helpful writing strategies combined with high-interest characters and themes will keep your child interested and eager to continue reading. Beginning Readers are great books to help build your child's confidence on the path to successful reading.
A few examples of our Beginning Readers are
