Fond du Lac Public Library Director Jon Mark Bolthouse announced that effective at 5 p.m. Monday, March 16, the downtown Main Library, FDLPL Express and Chapter 52 Bookstore will be closed. Tentative reopen date is set for Monday, April 27. That date may be updated as conditions require.

“We determined that public and community safety was best served by this temporary closure,” Bolthouse said, citing recommendations for social distancing by the Centers for Disease Control and Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Update on library services:

  • All buildings will be closed.
  • No materials will be available for checkout; items placed on hold will not be available.
  • No returns please; please hold onto all library materials until we reopen.
  • Due dates for all materials will be given an extra 30 days.
  • Check-ins will be fine-free through May 31.
  • Online services such as Wisconsin Digital Library, TumbleBooks and Language Learning Online will continue to be available to cardholders 24/7. Visit resources for kids/teens and resources for adults.

Bolthouse and library leadership will continue to review library services and will make announcements of updates on the library’s website, fdlpl.org, and Facebook page, facebook.com/FDLPL.
