- Depending on how your Book Club operates, one member may check out multiple copies or each member may obtain their own copy of the title to be discussed.
- Whoever checks out a book is responsible for the item’s safe return to the library. If items are not returned, the cardholder who checked out the item is responsible for any replacement fees incurred. The cardholder checking out the item(s) is the person who should place a hold on the item.
- If one member is checking out copies for all book club members, they should place multiple copies on hold.
- If the Library does not own the book your group is reading, please contact Library staff. If the title was published more than 1 year ago, we can request copies be sent to us through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) for free. You will then be able to checkout the item(s) from the FDL Public Library as usual.
- The cardholder checking out the item is the person who should request the item.
- Book Club items for adults and Book Club Kits for kids and teens check out for 60 days. One renewal is allowed and there are no late fees for reading materials. Cardholders will be billed for lost items more than 30 days past their due date.
